Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) Therapy

Gentle, non-invasive therapy to support healing and comfort.

At Restore & Enhance Animal Physiotherapy, I use Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) Therapy to help reduce pain, improve healing, and enhance mobility in dogs, cats, and horses.

This scientifically supported treatment uses gentle electromagnetic waves to stimulate the body’s natural repair processes — helping your animal recover more comfortably and efficiently.

How It Works

PEMF therapy works by delivering pulsing electromagnetic fields through the tissues using a specially designed mat, loop, or pad.

These energy pulses reach deep into muscles, joints, and bones, helping to:

  • Improve circulation and oxygen delivery to cells
  • Reduce pain and inflammation
  • Stimulate cellular repair and regeneration
  • Enhance the removal of toxins and waste products
  • Support muscle relaxation and mobility

The therapy works at a cellular level, restoring healthy electrical activity within the body’s tissues — promoting overall balance and recovery.

Benefits of PEMF Therapy

  • Reduces pain and inflammation
  • Speeds up healing after injury or surgery
  • Improves circulation and tissue oxygenation
  • Relieves stiffness and muscle tension
  • Supports joint health and mobility
  • Promotes relaxation and wellbeing

Safe and Comfortable Treatment

PEMF therapy is completely non-invasive and pain-free.
Most animals find it deeply relaxing — many even fall asleep during their session! Treatments can be used alone or in combination with other therapies such as massage, therapeutic ultrasound, and exercise rehabilitation for optimal results.

When It’s Not Suitable

PEMF therapy is not used:

  • Over areas of active infection or neoplasia
  • In pregnant animals
  • On patients with implanted electronic devices (e.g. pacemakers)
