Professional, Physio-Led Rehabilitation for Your Horse
When your horse is recovering from injury, surgery, or long-term performance issues, where and how they rehabilitate matters.
At Restore & Enhance Animal Physiotherapy, I offer full care, physio-led rehabilitation livery with daily hands-on professional input, structured rehab programmes, and purpose-built facilities to give your horse the best possible return to soundness and performance.
This is not standard livery. This is clinical, structured, results-focused rehabilitation.
Every horse with me benefits from:
- Daily professional rehab sessions
- Programmes designed by a qualified veterinary physiotherapist
- Full care livery by a Registered Veterinary Nurse
- Elecrotherapies if required – Laser, PEMFT, Therapeutic Ultrasound, NMES/TENS.
- Close liaison with your vet
- Regular reassessment and progression
- Clear, honest owner updates
Your horse is never “just exercised” — every session has a clinical purpose.
The Facilities
The private Mid-Devon yard provides a calm, peaceful setting where individual rehabilitation programmes can be carefully created and delivered, helping reduce stress and support optimal recovery.
Beautiful American style barn with purpose-built stables with rubber matting to allow maximum airflow, designed so horses can see each other, providing a safe and comfortable environment during the recovery process.
Horse walker available on site which allows a safe and controlled exercise environment to strengthening muscles and increase cardiovascular exercise. This will help improve horses physical and mental health.
For added safety and peace of mind, CCTV monitoring is used within the rehabilitation barn to allow regular observation of horses throughout the day and night. This enables close supervision during box rest, post-treatment periods, and the early stages of rehabilitation, without unnecessary disturbance.
Stable mounted equine solarium system with lamps that emits gentle radiant heat which warms muscles, increases circulation and promotes relaxation. It is a valuable supportive therapy within an equine rehabilitation programme, helping to prepare the body for exercise and support recovery afterwards. Perfect area to administer treatments especially on cold winter days.
All year-round arena with even surface to allow continued rehabilitation exercises with reduced impact on horse’s joints. Offering an optimal training environment, minimizing the risk of slips and injury. Ideal for structure, progressive strengthening and mobility work via lunging, pole work and proprioception training.
A round pen is available on site and used for controlled, low-distraction rehabilitation work. It is particularly useful for in-hand exercise, early-stage reconditioning, and groundwork, allowing horses to move in a calm, safe, and enclosed environment. The circular shape provides ample space for groundwork, training exercises and lunging allowing free movement. The round pen provides a safe space for both horse and me, fostering effective communication and trust.
In-hand grazing is offered as part of a structured rehabilitation and welfare programme. This allows horses to benefit from gentle movement, mental stimulation, and controlled access to grazing while remaining closely supervised, particularly during periods of box rest or restricted turnout.
Fenced individual turnout areas are available, allowing horses to benefit from carefully controlled turnout while maintaining safety and reducing the risk of overexertion or injury. Turnout is tailored to each horse’s stage of rehabilitation, temperament, and veterinary guidance. This allows horses to take the next step in their rehabilitation programme.
Your Horse’s Rehabilitation Journey - Let’s work together!
Step 1: Initial Enquiry
Get in touch to discuss your horse, their history, current issues and your goals. We’ll talk through whether the private rehab setting is the right fit for your horse.
Step 2: Vet Liaison
I’ll liaise with your vet to gain consent and ensure the programme is safe, appropriate and fully aligned with veterinary guidance.
Step 3: Information & Booking
Livery packages and T&C’s will be provided to you. Once livery package and length of stay is confirmed you’ll complete a rehabilitation agreement and questionnaire. Once booking is complete an arrival guide and pre-admission checklist will be provided to you.
Step 4: Arrival & Individual Assessment
Your horse arrives at our calm, low-stress rehab yard. Initial rehabilitation assessment will be completed and discussed with you. The peaceful environment, routine and individual care help support both physical recovery and mental wellbeing from day one.
Step 5: Rehabilitation Plan
Once the initial assessment is completed, based on your horse’s needs, I’ll create a bespoke rehabilitation programme. This may include controlled exercise, physiotherapy, therapeutic modalities and carefully planned progression — all tailored to your horse, not a one-size-fits-all approach.
Step 6: Daily Care & Hands-On Rehabilitation
Your horse receives consistent, professional daily care alongside hands-on physiotherapy and rehabilitation exercises delivered by me personally. Programmes are adapted as your horse progresses.
Step 7: Regular Updates & Ongoing Communication
You’ll receive regular updates, so you feel involved and informed throughout the process. We work together, adjusting the plan as needed to support the best possible outcome.
Step 8: Reassessment & Progression
Your horse is reassessed regularly to ensure steady, appropriate progress. Exercise and therapies are gradually advanced in line with recovery and veterinary recommendations. Veterinary reports are submitted when required.
Step 9: Preparing for Home or Next Stage
When your horse is ready, we’ll plan the transition home or to the next stage of work. You’ll receive clear guidance and a tailored aftercare plan to support continued progress.
You are fully involved in your horse’s journey – Step by Step!

Owner - Refer Your Horse for Rehabilitation or Physiotherapy
If you’re concerned about your horse’s movement, comfort, or recovery from injury, I’m here to help. Rehabilitation works best when we work together — owner, vet, and physiotherapist — to create a tailored plan that supports your horse every step of the way.
You can request a physiotherapy or rehabilitation assessment using the form below. Once received, I’ll be in touch to discuss your horse’s needs and, where required, liaise directly with your veterinary surgeon for consent.
Veterinary consent is required for physiotherapy under UK law. If your vet has already referred your horse, please ask them to complete the veterinary referral form instead.
Veterinary Referral – Equine Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation
Thank you for referring a case to Restore & Enhance Animal Physiotherapy. I provide evidence-based physiotherapy and structured rehabilitation programmes for horses, working closely alongside the referring veterinary surgeon.
All treatments are delivered within professional scope and in accordance with veterinary direction and ongoing clinical findings.
