Optimus Lumina Light Therapy

Gentle, effective light therapy to support healing, comfort and recovery.

At Restore & Enhance Animal Physiotherapy, I use the Optimus Lumina, a handheld red, infrared and blue light therapy device designed specifically for use in animals. This advanced form of phototherapy helps to relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and promote faster healing — all in a calm and non-invasive way.

How It Works

The Optimus Lumina uses specific wavelengths of visible red light, infrared light, and blue light to stimulate natural healing processes within the body:

  • Red and infrared light penetrate deeply into muscles and joints, helping to increase circulation, reduce inflammation, and relieve pain.
  • Blue light has natural antibacterial properties, making it especially helpful for wound care and skin healing.

Together, these light frequencies encourage cells to function more efficiently, supporting tissue repair and overall recovery.

Benefits of Optimus Lumina Therapy

  • Reduces pain and inflammation
  • Improves blood flow and oxygen delivery to tissues
  • Accelerates healing of wounds, muscles, ligaments, and tendons
  • Aids post-surgical recovery
  • Helps manage chronic conditions such as arthritis and stiffness
  • Supports general wellbeing and comfort

Safe and Comfortable Treatment

Optimus Lumina light therapy is gentle, painless, and well-tolerated by dogs, cats, and horses.
Most animals relax during treatment, and sessions can be used on their own or alongside other physiotherapy techniques such as massage, PEMF therapy, and exercise rehabilitation.

When It’s Not Suitable

For safety, light therapy is not used:

  • Over areas of active infection or neoplasia
  • In pregnant animals
  • In cases of photosensitivity
  • Directly over the eyes
